Help Our Neighbors Apply to be Citizens

Volunteer at Citizenship Workshop With UURISE

UURISE
Saturday, April 16, from 8am-5pm
Emmanuel Faith Community Church
639 E. 17th Ave. Escondido

Interested in immigration and civic engagement? Please come volunteer! Unitarian Universalist Refugee and Immigrant Services and Education (UURISE) will be holding a naturalization workshop in Escondido next month. UURISE will pair you with a person who is a legal permanent resident to work with them on their citizenship application. UURISE picks simple cases and provides step-by-step training, so it’s not too difficult. A few folks from Chalice, including Rev. Elizabeth, Marilyn Alberts, and Deb Coon, have done this before and are happy to talk about their experiences with you.
If you are interested, please let Rev. Elizabeth know: revelizabethbukey@gmail.com. We will need to schedule a 3-hour weeknight training for you. You can also contact UURISE Executive Director Katia Hansen, UURISE President & CEO, at katia @ uurise.org or 760-477-7537.
